About

The name means friend.

Bwenzi is a Nyanja word, the language spoken across eastern Zambia and Malawi, and it means friend.

That is not decoration. It is the whole idea. We build software the way a good friend shows up: helpful, honest, and never taking more than it gives. A friend doesn't sell your address book. A friend doesn't slip ads in front of the people you're trying to serve. A friend remembers that you're free to leave whenever you want, and holds the door open when you do.

Who we are

Bwenzi is a Christian-owned and veteran-owned software company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We're independent and bootstrapped. No investors, no private-equity roll-up, and no plan to become one. Just software made carefully, for churches, families, and communities.

Our faith shapes how we work more than what we say. It shows up as plain honesty, real service, doing the conservative and right thing when a shortcut is available, and building things we'd be glad to hand to our own church and our own kids.

What we believe about your privacy

We honor your privacy the way we want our own honored. That means a few concrete promises, not a vibe:

What we're building

Our first app is a modern, ad-free alternative to the dated sign-up tools churches have been stuck with. A beautiful, mobile-first way to organize meal trains, volunteer rosters, potlucks, and events. Volunteers don't need an account or an app to sign up. Organizers get something that is actually a joy to use. And private sign-ups stay private, on every plan.

More is coming, including tools for families and kids that are parent-paid, ad-free, and designed to collect no data at all.
